  • Ready Reference Facts on South Vietnam -- a "hearts and minds" booklet containing four pages of important facts. From the MACV Office of Information.
  • Uniforms of Seven Allies -- A handy booklet so we could identify our allies by the dress uniforms. Like we were ever going to see any of them in their dress uniforms...
  • Tour 365 -- The booklet they gave us when we left Vietnam.

    Wallet Cards
    In Basic Training, we were given a number of reference cards. I managed to save one of them:

  • GTA 21-2-6: Why We Salute, General Orders, Insignia of Rank, etc. -- Everything the novice soldier needs to know.
    When we arrived in Vietnam we were given another handful of reference cards:
  • M16 Rifle Tips -- Take care of your weapon and it will take care of you.
  • VC/NVA Mines & Booby Traps -- Remember: "Knowledge Inspires Confidence"
  • Prisoner Card -- What you were supposed to do if you had one in your hands...

    Misc Stuff

  • MPCs -- a sampler of Military Payment Certificates
  • Piasters -- a sampler of Vietnamese paper money
  • Photo of 3rd Platoon, Company A, 4th Battalion, 1st Brigade, Fort Lewis, WA -- July 1967 -- This was our "class photo", and I need help identifying some of my "classmates".
