Chairborne Ranger Music Store -- Essential Music for the Vietnam Generation

Chairborne Ranger, along with The Mansker Chronicles, is proud to be in association with Amazon.com. I've collected on this page a number of CDs that I consider essential for understanding the music of the Vietnam War. So sit back, relax, and let your mind run free with the music of a generation.

I've also collected the Billboard Top 100 Songs for the Vietnam Years; the top 100 for each year, 1964 to 1972. Check them out and come back here -- almost all of them are available through Amazon.com.

Please consider using the Chairborne Ranger for all your Amazon.com purchases. I get a small percentage on each item you buy, and that will help to defray the costs of maintaining this website. Bookmark this page in your Favorites directory. Thank you for your support.

With an opening by Adrian Cronauer (Good Morning Vietnam), this collection has kind of an odd mix, from the Beach Boys to Canned Heat. Worth a listen.

cd cover Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Whenever I think about the music I heard in Vietnam, I think of this album. Not only one of the most influential albums ever made, it is also a thrill to listen to even now. Relive the symbolism of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, experience again that great "final chord" on Day in the Life.

cd cover Magical Mystery Tour
Along with Sergeant Pepper (they both came out in 1967), this Beatles album also makes me recall the year I spent in Vietnam. Listen again to Fool on the Hill, stroll down Penny Lane, and lose yourself in Strawberry Fields Forever.
