Hanoi Hilton 1970

This is a 1970 Air force aerial reconnaissance photo of the Hoa Lo Prison in downtown Hanoi, more widely known as the infamous Hamoi Hilton.
Two-thirds of the prison was demolished in the early 1990s. The area outlined in red in the photo above shows the approximate location of outer walls of the prison as it stands today.
The area closest to the camera, where you can see trees inside the prison wall, is now the site of a new and modern high-rise office building.
The yellow arrow indicates the main entrance to the prison, facing the street that is farthest away from the camera.
